10 Tips for the Perfect Outdoor Party Part 1

Blowing bubbles

Christmas has come and gone but the party season is nowhere near over. Today we’re releasing our 15 tips to the perfect outdoor party.

1. Spread the word and spread it well.

Send your invites out well in advance, this is (and always should be) the number one tip for anyone hosting a party. People can take their sweet time RSVPing so ensuring you’ve made contact early should help safeguard you from any last minute attendees.

Secondly, make sure you use the invite to specify what it is people can expect on the day, adding things like ‘Food served at 2’ or your desired dress code help get things in action early on.

2. Everyone seated.

Having enough seating is extremely important. It helps people feel comfortable and, even more crucial, conversational. You can hire seating from a party hire group. Any party hire group worth their salt should have a few options when it comes to seating, so you should be able to find something that suits the theme and style of your event.

3. Lighting is your friend.

Most parties really come to life once the sun has finally set. LED lighting is often the safest and most fuss-free solution for an outdoor event, however, a party hire company will often be able to provide you with some more glamourous lighting. Large strings of LED lighting can be swung up amongst the trees, around the marquee or along any awnings you might have. Simple white is always a classic, whilst big bulbs in bright colours are about as festive as they come.

4. Mozzies be gone!

If there’s one thing that can ruin an Aussie outdoor do, it’s the humble mosquito. This small and always uninvited guest is the bane of any good host’s existence. Luckily there are now quite a few good ways you can deal with them. Mosquito sticks (like incense sticks) are one great way to prevent mozzies; burning for hours and leaving a great scent behind them. Bunnings also have a great selection of citronella candles that are safe and colourful.

5. The music maker.

Good music is a must at any great outdoor party. Ensure you’ve supplied enough tunes for five hours. If the party isn’t wrapped up by then people can whip out their itunes and help the festivities along. Classics are always solidly appreciated. The Stones, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson; it’s the songs that people really know and love that are bound to get them up on the dancefloor.
